This Tuesday is national giving Tuesday. Let’s start off with a verse “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'” Matthew 25:35-40 Jesus says this at the final judgment to the Christian’s who served and gave with a willing heart. To those who need something and it doesn’t matter who they are, if you have the ability to meet their needs you should. That is one of the best ways of sharing the gospel with a person who has a need. They’re not going to trust in the gospel if you walk by them and do not help them. If they’re hungry and you don’t feed them they will think you are all talk and no belief. Jesus also said in this verse to visit the sick and those in prison. To give something to someone you do not always have to spend money. Some of the things that have given me the most joy didn’t cost anything from the people who gave it to me. You think about some of the things that brought you the most joy may have not cost anything from the people who gave it to you. So in this season of giving let that thought affect the way you give. And remember Jesus will say in the end times that if you give unto those who are naked and hungry or those who need to be visited in the hospital or prison, then you did it unto Him. So let us remember this in the season of giving.
