Where does your faith lie Leave a Comment / Weekly Dive Deeper / By Cas Medlin This week I want to start off with some verses, “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” Matthew 7:24-27 What happens when it rains, does it mean that your faith crumbles or does it make you stronger, more storm tested and ready? Is your faith grounded on Jesus or is it placed on things of this world like circumstances or money? Who is on the throne of your heart is it Jesus Christ or is it something that is of this world? During this time of uncertainty did you feel fear or anxiety? Let us remember who is still in control! As some of the countries of the world start to open back up from this pandemic let us remember that people will be more open and ready to talk. They have had less people to socialize with, so they will be more open to you and willing to listen to what you have to say. So if you bring up the gospel in one of your interactions then there is a seed planted. If you have demonstrated a good testimony then they will see that there is something different about you and will be more likely to trust in Him. The world has a higher standard for Christians than most Christians have so we should pray that He would lead us through the conversations. So as we start returning to normal life, set aside extra time to stop and have interactions with others who are feeling alone. They are seeking, but they don’t know who they are seeking. Maybe this week you will find that you are longing for something, that is the part of you longing for Him.
